"High Life" and "Low Life" (1829)
Sir Edwin Landseer

"High Life" is a well-groomed dog in a comfortable room, with beveled-glass windows looking out at the city, far below. "Low Life" is a working dog (note the cropped ears) with a thick collar, standing guard in the cold stone entryway of the dog's workplace, such as a warehouse.
